Great Grandad and Great Grandma Mayes Came to Visit

My Grandad and Grandma from Arizona came for a visit. They were really looking forward to meeting Peyton. Peyton is their first Great Grandchild. We had a really good time visiting with them. We enjoyed sitting around and watching Peyton. Peyton had a good time in the baby pool in Grammy and Papa's backyard. Great Grandma, and Grammy went to watch Peyton at Gymboree. Peyton enjoyed showing off! We are so glad that they came to see us. Enjoy the pictures!!

We took Peyton to the pool this weekend. He did not like it at first, but after a while he loved it. We are so glad that he likes it. All Russell's must like the water!! We are not here to have fun, we are here to learn how to swim (ski)!! ( this was a quote that my family always used on me at the lake ). Peyton will be a great little swimmer by the end of the summer. Enjoy the pics!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...............

Peyton went to his first Astros game's this past weekend. We actually went two nights in a row, and Peyton really enjoyed it. He was in awe of all the people and the noises. The first night we went, Lezlie, Scott, Dwayne, Peyton, and I got to sit in Conoco-Phillips diamond seats. This is where the former President Bush and his wife sit, right in front of home base. We got to be on TV. The Bush's were not at the game that night. Very disappointing!!! We were given the royal treatment with dinner in the dining room(all you can eat!!). Then during the game everything was free!! Thanks again Mom and Dad, and Conoco-Phillips!!

The second night that we went we actually won the game!! Peyton did so well for being at the games for 3 or more hours. The second night we had our picture taken before the game, and because it was so good, they displayed it during the game on the big screen. We had people from our church who were at the game calling our cell phones. It was a blast. We will definitely be taking Peyton again. Enjoy all the great pics!!!

Peyton Eating His First Food!

We have attached a couple videos of Peyton eating his first food. His first food was green beans. As you will see in the video, he did not like them. I tried them for 2 days and he still would not eat them. So, we are now eating sweet peas. He loves them. I am attempting to make his baby food. We will see how it goes. Peyton 6 Months Old

Peyton is now 6 month old. These pictures were taken at JcPenny.

We went to the Dr. yesterday for his checkup. The Dr. says that he looks great. He is developing and growing the way he should be. Peyton is now sitting up by himself, eating peas and cereal, saying "mama", and "baba", putting everything in his mouth, standing holding someones hands, and his bottom 2 teeth just came through the skin. He is getting so big, and changing so much!!

Peyton is now 15.8 lbs, and 27 and a quarter inches tall.

Dwayne and I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful baby boy. God is so good!!

Peyton's First Trip to Oregon

We just got back from a weekend in Oregon. We were a little nervous about the 4 hour plane ride, but Peyton did great. Everyone sitting around us was amazed at how well he did.

We had a really good time visiting family. Peyton had so much fun playing with his cousins.

Peyton's First Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. It was cold though. It was about 44 degress in Houston when we went to church. Peyton looked so handsome in his Easter duds.

After church, we went over to Papa and Grammy's house to eat lunch, and the Easter bunny came to see Peyton. He was pretty excited. Grammy and Papa got Peyton a bag of different balls. We think that he likes the Football the best. Grammy also got Peyton an Easter bunny that sings and dances. He loves to grab it's ears. After lunch, we played for a little while and then it was nap time. Peyton had a very special first Easter. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Peyton is Sitting Up

Peyton is now sitting up. He does fall over every once in a while but, he is pretty good at it. It is so much fun to play with him when he is sitting up. He loves it when I stack the blocks for him. He likes to knock them over.

Dwayne and I cannot believe how big he is getting. Before I know it he will be running around the house. I am trying to cherish every new stage that Peyton goes through.

Peyton at Gymboree Class

Peyton and I started going to a baby gymboree class today. It is for babies 6-10 months old. You work on gross, fine motor development skills and speech skills. There is lots of singing and fun musical instruments involved. Peyton also gets to play on fun mats and tunnels!! We are working on sitting up and still rolling over.

Peyton had so much fun. He smiled and laughed a lot. He did cry though when Mommy made him lay on his tummy and when he fell over while trying so hard to sit up!! We are really looking forward to next week. We will be taking this class for 16 weeks!! Peyton will be cruisin' by then!! Mommy and Peyton's Day of Fun!!!!!

I decided to take a challenge and take Peyton to the Zoo last week with some friends from church. I was a little worried as to how Peyton would do, but he did great. He of course woke up at 4am that morning and did not sleep again till about 11am. The weather was perfect, about 80 degrees. I carried him in his snugli carrier for about an hour and he loved it. He really liked the big animals ( elephant and giraffe). His eyes got really big when the giraffe got close to the gate.

After about an hour in his carrier he was pooped out. Here is a picture of how is was for the rest of our trip at the zoo.

We had so much fun at the zoo. I can't wait to take him again when he is little bit older!!!

In a world far, far away.......

Papa sings "Five little monkeys" to Peyton. As you can see in some of these photos, Peyton LOVES when Papa gets to the part..."and BUMPED his head....(or BROKE his head in Papa's language)".

The Web Cam has taken a new meaning in Peyton's every day activities. We don't complain too much any more that Grammy and Papa are over 1000 miles away, Peyton still gets to see them daily. (Even though we have to clean the computer screen because he likes to give WET kisses)......

Peyton at the Houston Rodeo

We decided since it was such a nice weekend to go to the Houston Rodeo. We had a really good time. Peyton just enjoyed watching lots of people. He did see some cows, horses, and goats. He really didn't pay much attention to them though. He really only likes animals right now that are moving around a lot.

We had Peyton strapped to Dwayne's chest for most of our time at the Rodeo. He just chewed on his bib and babbled the whole time. I really think he was having a good time. He did not sleep the whole 3 hours we were at the fair. Here are some pictures!!

Peyton's Four Month Old Pictures

Our Friend from church takes professional photographs as a hobby, and she came over and took 161 pictures of Peyton, Dwayne, and I. I had a very hard time choosing which ones to put on the Blog. Enjoy!!!

Peyton is 4 months old today!!!!

Well, Peyton and I just got home from his 4 month Dr.'s appointment. He was a very good boy. I was a little nervous, since I did go by myself this time. Peyton did not even cry when the Dr. was checking him over. He was reaching up to grab the stethoscope and smiling. Peyton did get his second round of shots today. I was very proud of him. Peyton and I did cry a little. I sang his favorite song to him while he was getting his shots. This song usually makes him stop crying. Instead of their being "5 Little Monkey's Jumpin on the Bed", there was 10 Little Monkey's Jumpin on the Bed". I think that the nurse thought that I was a little crazy!!!!

The Dr. told me that I can start him on baby food once a day, continuing also to breast feed now if I want to. We are going to start after our trip to Oregon, which is this weekend. He is really ready to start eating. He is imitating our mouth movements while we eat, and reaching for our food. I am excited to try him on it!!!

Dwayne and I feel very blessed and Thank God every day that we have a Healthy and Happy baby!!!!!

Peyton's First Valentines Day

Peyton had a great first Valentines Day. He got to go to lunch with Daddy and shopping with Mommy. Of course he had to wear his cute Valentine outfit.

Peyton did get me a Valentine gift and it was a dirty diaper that leaked all over my shirt!!!!! It was really sweet of him!! :(

Dwayne and I really didn't have any big plans this year. It is very different having a baby in the house. I just made Dwayne dinner and spent time together as a family. It was PRICELESS!!!!!

Peyton is talking up a storm before church!! I think he will be one of those children that will have to be taken out during church because he is talking to much. I am very happy though that he is a talkative child.

This video was taken on Super Bowl Sunday with our Bible Study group. The girls were having fun with the two boys, Peyton and Blake Dauphin. Blake had just gotten a jumperoo a few days back, so he was teaching Peyton the "moves". Watch Peyton's face as he has that "smirk" when watching Blake. (And of course Mindy getting the good workout holding Blake)

A Growin' Boy!!!!

It has been amazing seeing the changes this lil' boy has made the last few weeks. Almost four months old now. I go to work and when I come back 8 hours later, he's completely different!! It's the coolest thing. I even caught him singing "5 Little Monkeys jumpin' on the bed...." no, not really, but he's still fun to listen to. Well, I know you'd rather see pictures than listen to my B-rate humor, so here's some new ones:

















Peyton playing with his new exersaucer (he likes the lights!!!) He has just learned how to sit up in it. He usually hits his nose on the toys in front of him.
















Hangin' with his ducky in Mr. Bumbo seat. His favorite two things to watch in Mr. Bumbo: football and Baby Einstein.
















He also likes blocks. He is learning to hold things with both hands and the first place it goes....yep, in his mouth. (Where else do yummy things go?)

















Peyton loves his bath time. He asked me if he can wear his towel next halloween. I told him only if it is 85 degrees and sunny.
















Peyton loves to lay on the floor, hold his toys, and talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, and talk.....unless you call someone on the phone, then he's all ears.
